Three Basic Steps for Healing:
1) Repent for the sin that caused the wound – whether it was our sin, generational sin, or sin someone else did to us – and then forgive anyone associated with that sin. Put the Blood of Jesus on the sin. The Cross takes away all the sin. That was why Jesus hung there! He did that to take away the sin of the world.
2) Apply the glory light. Once the sin is taken care of, apply the dunamis resurrection power of Christ to that wound to get it healed.
3) Command the demonic to come off! They will come off easily because the legal right is gone. Our dreams and visions can lead us through each and every step of this process.
Below I explain and go into detail of this overall process.
Step One: Repent for the Sin - So the Light Can Come In
Step one is dealing with the sin. That's what Jesus went to the Cross for. If the sin is not dealt with, it can actually block the light from getting to the wound, which is the second step. Let me give you an example. We were ministering to a friend who had been deeply wounded by her stepfather. He had molested her right in front of her mother and her mother allowed it. That was a double betrayal. That sin deeply wounded her soul and then caused her to sin. She became bitter, angry, and resentful against people and against certain situations in her life. As we were ministering to her, we couldn't get the light to go on.
We were stuck. So, I got still for a minute and the Lord said to me, "Your friend needs to forgive anew. And she needs to repent." I thought this was not going to go over well, but I began to explain it to her anyway. (She was dealing with the sin of being angry, bitter and resentful.)
"So, when Jesus died on the Cross, His Blood ripped and removed the curtain that represents the sin that was separating God and man."
I said, "The Lord says that you need to forgive them again and then you need to repent for yourself."
She said, "What do you mean I have to repent? I didn't do anything! I was just a child!"
Repenting when you are the victim is a hard thing to do, but it's the truth. The truth is what sets us free! She had been victimized. However, when someone sins against us and it makes a wound in our soul, that wound will then make us act out of that sin, which is also sin.
The Apostle Paul talked about it. It is the sin nature, fixed and operating in our souls. So, even though she had been sinned against, it now caused her to be bitter and resentful, which is sin. The Lord was so good, even as I explained this to her, He gave her a vision of a light bulb with a broken filament. She understood that. She knew no light was getting in, and she did not want to stay there in the darkness. As we have been forgiven, we must forgive, so light can come in! God used this symbol to speak directly to her. She did what God was asking of her, and began to see the manifestation of God's healing in her life.
Decoding the Symbols of Our Dreams for Inner Healing from Sin
God can use symbols in our dreams and visions to let us know when we have not properly dealt with the sin that is on the wound, just like He did for my friend.
Let's say I have a dream and someone is in the dream with me who has deeply wounded me. In the dream, I have sunglasses on. What do sunglasses do? They block the light from getting into my eyes...the windows to my soul. So God is using these sunglasses as a symbol of sin that is blocking the light from getting into my soul to heal my wounds.
When we see symbols like this that are blocking the light from coming in, we know we are dealing with sin that needs to be taken care of first. We then ask God to show us the sin so we can repent, put the Blood on it, and move forward. Mark 9:48 (AMPC) says that the worms in Hell represent the wounds put on a man by his sin. We were praying for a woman who was cutting herself, and I knew exactly who was tormenting her – it was the spirit of Legion.
Remember that Mark 5 says the man would "beat, bruise, and cut himself." Legion was able to be on that man to control him because he lived among the tombs. Likewise, Legion had the legal right to make her cut because she had soul wounds that were created by sin.
The Holy Spirit led us as we ministered and she received a vision of her own heart that was black and squirming with worms. She said, "I wonder what that means?" Those worms symbolized sin that can block the light from coming into our soul. I led her through repentance and forgiveness. Then she received a second vision. This time, the Blood of Jesus was coming down and frying those worms! (Photo via Unsplash)
Another symbol that might be blocking the light is a curtain. As we were getting our own souls healed and ministering to other people, I kept seeing curtains, blinds, and shades. I kept hearing the word, "curtain". I looked up "curtain". One of the meanings in the dictionary is, "A hanging piece of fabric used to shut out light from a window." So, a dream or vision of a curtain is representing another sin blocking the light from coming in. So what should we do when we see a curtain, a shade, or a blind? We apply the Blood of Jesus to it.
Then, I put the word "curtain" in the Bible search application and got such a revelation. When Jesus shed His Blood on the Cross, the curtain in the temple (we are now the temple) was ripped from top to bottom and removed. That curtain symbolized the separation between God and man. What is sin? Sin separates God and man. We get rid of sin with the atoning Blood of Jesus Christ. We repent and forgive.
So, when Jesus died on the Cross, His Blood ripped and removed the curtain that represents the sin that was separating God and man. When a curtain is ripped, it allows light to come in! So Jesus removed that curtain allowing light to come into the temple. In a dream or vision when you see a curtain or drawn blinds, put the Blood on them. Say, "I put the Blood of Jesus' Cross on that curtain. I rip that curtain down from the midst of my temple so that light can flood into my temple and heal my wounded soul."
Dream: "I'm Going to Take Care of This"
A good friend told me about her dream. In jails when you go in to visit, you step into the security box, and they shut the doors behind you, in front of you, and there is no getting out until someone pushes the button. She dreamed that she was trapped in this "box" in prison. Then the box suddenly turned into a hospital and there were seven bodies lying on the floor covered with sheets. In between each body was a curtain. She was looking at all of them. Suddenly, she looked down and saw that she was wearing a hospital robe. Then, she realized the back of her robe was hanging open so she went, "Oops!" and grabbed it to close it.
Let's unpack this dream. Those seven bodies on the floor are soul wounds – bodies and corpses. Where do corpses belong? In a tomb, which represents a soul wound. The Blood of Jesus has to be applied to remove the curtains so those soul wounds can receive light.
In part of the dream, a physician came in and as soon as he saw her he said, "I'm going to take care of this." I really believe that it was Jesus that came in to put the Blood on those curtains. We know this dream was about her because she was wearing the gown and she was exposed. In the next portion of the dream she said, "All of a sudden I was in this room, I was in this contraption that was just like a tanning bed." The light!
Jesus came in: (Step 1), and put the Blood on these curtains to remove them. Then she got confirmation by seeing herself in a "light booth" where Jesus put glory and light on her (step 2). When she woke up, she felt like she had gotten healed of seven wounds. She asked me one more question, "I'm missing step 3 aren't I?" I replied, "Yes. Ask Jesus if He took care of the demonic or if you still need to command them tocome off in Jesus' name."
What Could Doors, Fences and Locks Mean in Dreams?
Another symbol that you might see in your dreams is a fence. Sometimes God puts a hedge of protection around you, and other times a fence can represent sin. Remember in Exodus 19:16-25 when the Israelites were at the foot of Mt. Horeb and they were about to receive the Ten Commandments from God? Moses went up and God told him that he was to go down and give them the Ten Commandments. God wanted to get the people ready by having fences or barriers placed around the foot of His mountain.
Exodus 19:21 (AMPC) reads, "The Lord said to Moses, 'Go down and warn the people, lest they break through to the Lord to gaze and many of them perish.'" Since God had not issued the Ten Commandments yet, the people were still in sin. If they had broken through that fence or barrier and climbed up the mountain to see God, they would have been destroyed. So, fences can represent sin.
In our dreams, when we see a fence or barrier blocking us, we are to put the Blood of Jesus on it as we repent and forgive. If we are walking down a dead-end street, this could mean we need to repent and forgive before we can continue. If there is a closed door, there may be a soul wound hiding in the room. We need to get in that door to see what is there. We apply the Blood to it. If the door has a lock, it is like a fence or barrier and represents sin, so we apply the Blood to the lock. We pay attention to the details. What is the door constructed of? Iron means we need extra time repenting and applying the Blood to open the door to the room where the soul wounds are hiding.
"God can use symbols in our dreams and visions to let us know when we have not properly dealt with the sin that is on the wound..."
We dream about bathrooms because we get cleaned up in the bathroom and it is one of the rooms in our temple. Pay attention to what that bathroom looks like. Is it old? Is it new? Is it dirty? Is it in bad condition? Details will tell us how far along we are in our soul healing process. When the bathtub is clogged, that clog represents sin. If we go into a dark bathroom, we need to apply the Blood!
I was in a bathroom dream and I saw multiple shower-heads. I asked the Lord, "What does that mean?" He said, "It's going to take multiple times of putting light on your soul to get this one." God told me that in advance so I wouldn't give up. So, the first step in getting your wounds healed is to deal with the sin that created the wound. Symbols in your dreams and visions can show you the sin that might be blocking the light.
Step Two: Apply the Glory Light
Step two: When you have dealt with the sin, then you can apply the glory light of Christ to the wound to get it healed. Once again, symbols in your dreams and visions can guide you through this step.
Once when praying for another person's soul, I applied the Blood and then asked for the light. In a vision I saw the blackness of space and waves of light were coming at me, but they were still in the distance. This simple vision told me the activation was working; the light was on its way. It also told me the light was not here yet and had not accomplished its purpose. Really look at the detail of your vision. Was the light bright or dim in the bathroom? Details tell us how far along we have come.
I've had wounds healed in minutes, but I've had others that have taken longer to be healed. During those times, the visions and dreams God gave me told me how far along I had come. My husband had a dream that we were both standing by a small mountain and were attacking a tank that was hemmed into a cul-de-sac at the base of a large mountain. The tank was trying to protect the cul-de-sac, but it was so hemmed in that the tank couldn't turn around all the way. There was also a cliff overhang blocking its way so it was blasting at the mountain to bring down the overhang. Little did the tank know that on the other side of that overhang, angels were ready to shoot in light as soon as that portion of the mountain was destroyed.
I knew the large mountain represented my husband's soul and the smaller one represented mine. I was fighting for him, so we were both over at my mountain shooting at his larger mountain. I understood what I needed to do. I put Blood on the overhang that was blocking the light. This would help the tank break it off. The first night, I focused the Blood and light on that rock overhang to help break it off. After about half an hour, I felt movement in the spirit, but I didn't see any visions or get a progress report. I had not gotten a confirmation that the wound was healed, so I continued soaking it in the light, and sending light towards that cul-de-sac. By the way, "cul-de-sac" means "a dead-end street and an area that's hemmed in by a military force!" God was not showing us tanks and cul-de-sacs just for the fun of it! He shows us things that have meaning. (Photo via Unsplash)
The next day, I released more light on that cul-de-sac and then saw a vision of the light rising half-way up my husband's back! This was my progress report! The sun of righteousness was arising with healing for the mountain of my husband's soul (see Malachi 4:2 AMPC)! Because the light was only halfway up his back, this vision told me to keep on going!
Step 3: Command the Demonic to Come Off!
Every little part of your dreams and visions mean something. I am such a stickler for details. It can be overwhelming to really look at all the details of every vision. You will learn to tell which visions are really from God that you should pay attention to, because God will have you remember the specific details. People tell me, "I had a vision. I was walking down the hallway of a house and I was going towards a door."
I say to them, "And? What do you mean?" I ask, "How far away from the door were you? Was the door on the left or the right hand side of the hallway? Was the door open or closed? What color was it? Was there a lock on the door? If it was open, is the room that it was open to dark or light?" I pay attention to every detail because it gives me my progress report and tells me what to do next.
If I am quite a ways down the hall in my dream, it may take some time to get my healing. I still need to do more repenting and soaking in the light. If I am close to the door, the healing process may begin very quickly. If the door is on the right side, this is symbolic of a few things. The Bible speaks of God's right arm and hand being His hand or side of power (refers to the position of Messiah).
Psalm 89:13: "You have a mighty arm; strong is Your hand, Your right hand is soaring high." Also Psalm 20:6, "Now I know that the Lord saves His anointed; He will answer him from His holy heaven with the saving strength of His right hand." And regarding the left hand, "...Do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing" (Matthew 6:3), which speaks of the invisible realm; the things that won't manifest as openly or that might have a deeper need for healing, as they are in secret or hidden places.
If the door is closed, then we need to put the Blood of Jesus on the sin, as it is blocking us from going into that room. If the door is open and the light is on in the room, I'm being healed. If not, I ask for the light to enter that room. My visions and my dreams guide me to a successful conclusion and I get the breakthrough every time.
We have done steps 1 and 2. Now we are going to move on to step 3. We have put the Blood of Jesus on our soul wounds. We have released the Dunamis power of the glory light of Jesus into our soul to heal the wound(s). Put your faith on the fact that your wounds are healed!
Now, there is one more thing we need to do. We need to kick the demons off that no longer have a legal right to be there! We can now command the demons to come off and stay off. They can no longer go out and find some evil friends to torment us any more. They no longer have the legal right to be there!
There are symbols in your dreams that can show you when you are ready for deliverance. I'll just show you a couple that we've received (God will probably give you others also). Trains (choo, choo!) and snow – believe it or not, both of these are Biblical and they are directly connected to deliverance of the soul. Let me prove it to you.
During soaking, I kept seeing trains flying down the tracks, train wheels tearing up dirt that was on the tracks, trains coming at me high speed, like a bullet train going 200 miles per hour! I remember working on one of my husband's soul wounds. We had completed steps one and two, and felt the wound had been healed. That night, before we began moving into deliverance, my husband had a dream. He was in a train station and there was a train full of enemy soldiers (demons). I was there making sure that none of them left the train before it left the station with all of them in it.
I also kept seeing snow – people ice-skating, snow skiing, and snow-covered mountain ranges. I did research on snow and I found that throughout Scripture, snow and hail are used for a time of war! In Job 38:22-23 it says: "Have you entered the storehouses of the snow, or have you seen the storehouses of the hail, which I have reserved for the time of trouble, for the day of battle and war?"
God uses snow and hail for the times we are being troubled and harassed to defeat the enemy. In Exodus 9:18-35, God used hail to judge the demonic idols; it was one of the plagues of Egypt. Demon gods were behind those idols. Exodus 9:18 reads, "Hear this: tomorrow about this time I will send a very heavy and dreadful hail, such as has not been seen in Egypt from the day it was founded until now." He used hail to judge them.
In Joshua 10, God used hail to defeat five evil kings. Joshua 10:11 says, "As they fled before Israel, while they were at the descent of Bethhoron, the Lord threw down large stones [of hail] from Heaven on them as far as Azekah, and they died. More [Amorites] died because of the hailstones than those whom the sons of Israel killed with the sword."
I have a lot more to teach you about trains and hail/snow...see you next time! (To Subscribe to the Elijah List subscribe here.)
Katie Souza was a career criminal most of her life, was convicted of a number of felonies and sent to federal prison to serve almost twelve years. While serving what would be her final prison sentence, Katie encountered God in a way that dramatically changed her life. She immediately became an outspoken advocate for Jesus and her infectious love for Him caused many women inside her cell block to accept Him as their Savior. One of the things that Katie is known for are her insights relating to soul-healing, a revelation that explains why so many Believers can appear to do everything they've learned in church and still fail to receive breakthrough in their lives. Once Katie began teaching and writing about the process of soul-healing, she witnessed and heard evidence of thousands of miracles. Katie lives in Arizona with her husband, Robert and their two small dogs. She writes, teaches, produces a television show which is broadcast around the world and travels extensively. Katie and Robert visit prisons several times each year to teach inmates how to hear from God and to demonstrate that they too can achieve what God has promised and planned for them.
