I would like to teach you on secrets of the "ascended life." E.W. Kenyon once said:
"The Resurrection of the Lord Jesus is the proof of satan's defeat, of man's Redemption, and of God's legal right to make the Believer a New Creation...God has lifted the Believer above all rule and authority and power and dominion, not only in this age, but in that which is to come. He put all things in subjection under the Believer's feet. He gave Christ who is the Head of the Body to be Master over all the forces of the universe."
We cannot claim any blessing that is not plainly proclaimed in God's Word. However, faith begins where the will of God is known, and God's Word reveals God's will. First, let us notice Paul's description of Christ's resurrection in the first chapter of his letter to the Ephesians:
"And what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come" (Ephesians 1:19-21).
Paul informs us that the power that is working in us is the same power that raised Christ from the dead and enthroned Him at the Father's right hand. Christ is enthroned far above all other spiritual beings that exist in the heavenly realms. As Paul continues in his letter to the Ephesians, he writes:
"But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus"(Ephesians 2:4-6).
In raising Christ from the dead, the apostle saw by revelation that we were raised with Him and enthroned with Him at the Father's right hand. We are enthroned with Him in the higher realm of heavenly places far above principalities and power and every name that is named (see Ephesians 1:21). It is important to note that in the unseen realm of spiritual reality, we are enthroned above all other spiritual beings.
Paul uses the phrase "heavenly places" five times in the Book of Ephesians:
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ" (Ephesians 1:3)
"...which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places" (Ephesians 1:20)
"...and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus" (Ephesians 2:6)
"...to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the Church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places" (Ephesians 3:10)
"For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places" (Ephesians 6:12).
Apparently, the realm of heavenly places contains both a higher and a lower realm. The evil hosts of wickedness are in the heavenly realms, but Christ is enthroned far above them, and we are in Him. Our co-enthroning with Christ is far above these other spiritual beings. We are blessed with every spiritual blessing in this realm. Our warfare against the principalities and powers is from our position above them. They attempt to bring us down from our position of absolute victory by deceiving us into fighting on their level. It is the destiny of the Church to demonstrate the many-sided wisdom of God to these very principalities and powers (see Ephesians 3:10).
As our minds are renewed and our faith grows, we take these realities as fact and live in the light of them. We come to know that we are above our enemies and refuse to walk in the flesh realm but take our place in Christ in the spirit realm. The following is an excerpt from John G. Lake's articleThe Power of the Name:
"The miracle realm is man's natural realm. He is by creation the companion of the miracle-working God. Sin dethroned man from the miracle-working realm, but through grace he is coming into his own.
"...In the beginning, man's spirit was the dominant force in the world. When he sinned, his mind became dominant. Sin dethroned the spirit and crowned the intellect. But grace is restoring the spirit to its place of dominion. When man comes to realize this, he will live in the realm of the supernatural without effort.
"No longer will faith be a struggle, but a normal living in the realm of God. The spiritual realm places man where communion with God is a normal experience.
"Miracles are then his native breath..."
Reality of Ascended Living
The reality of our new life in Christ requires a renewing of our minds. What the Father says is divine fact; the declarations of God are the highest form of reality other than God Himself. The creative ability of God was released when He spoke all matter into being, and in the eternal purpose of God the first creation becomes the type of the new creation.
For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 2 Corinthians 4:6
Father has commanded light to shine into our darkness and impart the knowledge of the glory of God. He has declared us to be raised and enthroned with Christ at His right hand. As we embrace these truths, the Holy Spirit bears witness with our spirits that we are indeed sons of God and joint heirs with Christ.
But to as many as did receive and welcome Him, He gave the authority (power, privilege, right) to become the children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name – who owe their birth neither to bloods nor to the will of the flesh [that of physical impulse] nor to the will of man [that of a natural father], but to God. [They are born of God!] John 1:12-13 AMP
We Are Seated In Heavenly Places
The more we meditate on the revelation of enthronement, the more we accept and believe it, the more that place gets on us. Heavenly encounters increase and angelic activity abounds. Every spiritual blessing has been given to us in the heavenly places (see Ephesians 1:3). We are not going to grovel in the earthly realm, but we are seated in the heavenly places with the Lord. Every Believer has the right, authority, and ability to minister out of the throne room just as Jesus did.
The Church is entering a time when we won't want anything but the very heart and mind of the Father. We are going through a transformation that we must embrace, as Paul stresses:
"Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus. To this end I also labor, striving according to His working which works in me mightily" (Colossians 1:28-29).
The question is: Are you hungry for transformation?
I know I am. I want to know, hear, see, and be like Jesus. Embrace His work in you so that He can work through you mightily. Embrace the ministry of the Holy Spirit and allow the sevenfold flow of the Holy Spirit to manifest in your life.
As we understand our divine union with Him and become obedient to His voice, we can engage face to Face, spirit to Spirit, and unite our hearts to His. When we plug into the center pipe of the heavenly menorah, we receive the fresh oil of Psalm 92: "I am anointed with fresh oil" (Psalm 92:10 AMP).
As the fresh oil pours in from the Word, the anointing pours into the vat, and we become partakers of that rich flow of the unlimited anointing and union of the Holy Spirit. Fresh oil feeds the flames – the seven flames atop the seven pipes. It has to be a continuous flow of oil for the seven flames to burn. We trim the wick and replenish the oil in perpetual communion with Him, and the flame burns in divine union with Him. The greater the flow of oil, the greater the flame. The greater the flame, the greater the favor and influence.
Keys To Living the Ascended Life
In this section I want to give some keys that will help you develop a lifestyle of ascended living. One of the greatest keys I've come to know is the Kingdom principal of beholding and becoming. I also call this the "Kingdom Law of Focus." You become what you set your attention upon.
Proverbs 23:7 says, "As [a man] thinks in his heart, so is he."
In other words, whatever I set my gaze upon is what I become. Personally, I've found this to be one of the most important keys to living the ascended life. Paul wrote to the Colossian Church and encouraged them to "set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth" (Colossians 3:2).
Beholding and Becoming
Paul, in his letter to the Corinthian Church, revealed this amazing truth about beholding and becoming:
"But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
When we behold the Lord as in a mirror, we are being transformed into the same image. As we stare or gaze upon the Lord, the law of focus brings the intimate union of our spirit man into an unbroken union with Jesus Himself. I've been swept away into the throne room in this type of trans-like meditation. The word used for transformation here is the Greek wordmetamorphoo, where we get the wordmetamorphosis. It means to literally be transfigured. The same word is used when Jesus was transfigured in Mark 9 on the mountain with Peter, James, and John.
Six days after this, Jesus took with Him Peter and James and John and led them up on a high mountain apart by themselves. And He was transfigured before them and became resplendent with divine brightness. And His garments became glistening, intensely white, as no fuller (cloth dresser, launderer) on earth could bleach them. And Elijah appeared [there] to them, accompanied by Moses, and they were holding [a protracted] conversation with Jesus. Mark 9:2-4 AMP
Jesus was transfigured before them. He was changed, morphed; it's an inward molecular change. We can have the radiant glory of God shining from every part of us. In the process of beholding and becoming through intimate union with Jesus Himself, Peter says we become partakers of the divine nature.
By means of these He has bestowed on us His precious and exceedingly great promises, so that through them you may escape [by flight] from the moral decay (rottenness and corruption) that is in the world because of covetousness (lust and greed), and become sharers (partakers) of the divine nature. 2 Peter 1:4 AMP
Here are a few prayer points:
• Give thanks to the Lord for the ways He has transformed your life.
• Ask Holy Spirit to reveal areas where your mind needs to be renewed to bring further transformation.
• Take time to rest in God's presence, beholding Him, and be refreshed.
